What does the word “values” mean to you? It likely means something different for everyone, but if you want to change your money and change your life, it’s important to define what your values are. In this episode, we talk about what the word “values” means to us and how ours have changed over the past 5-10 years.
Your priorities will be defined, whether you’re making a conscious decision about them or not, which is why it’s so important to intentionally figure out what they are and why they exist. Also, it’s good to recognize that what you wish was a priority may not actually be something you value, and we explain the difference between the two.
One thing we know for sure: You can’t have goals without knowing your values. We give ideas on how often you should revisit your core values and how to figure exactly what they are. Plus, we share how your values affect your spending habits and what do to if you have competing financial priorities.
To take action this week, try mapping out your values based on the kind of lifestyle you want to live everyday. And remember, your values should not be confused with your aspirations. Be honest with yourself about how you’re feeling about your current priorities and where you hope to be in the future.
