Welcome to the second season of Budgets and Cents, a podcast co-hosted by Cait Flanders (formerly Blonde on a Budget) and Carrie Smith (Careful Cents). If this is your first time listening, welcome! You can use our episode guide to catch up on what you’ve missed.

As blog owners, freelancers and co-hosts of this podcast, we’ve had to learn how to balance our personal brands with our work and real lives. That’s what this week’s topic is all about: developing a brand, creating a cohesive message and balancing it with your daily life. We talk about how our brands have evolved over time, how we came up with a co-branded theme for the podcast and discover there is still more work for us (or at least Cait) to do!

We also talk about how being anonymous (or semi-anonymous) can affect your brand and your ability to find freelance work. We even dive into how much you should (or should not) share about yourself online. And we also explain specific ways to make a brand stand out and become instantly recognizable on social media (think: images, colors and fonts). If you’re struggling to figure out how to present yourself and your brand online, this episode has some takeaways that will help!
