Hello, friends! Welcome to another season of Budgets and Cents, a podcast co-hosted by Cait Flanders (formerly Blonde on a Budget) and Carrie Smith Nicholson (Careful Cents). If this is your first time listening, we’re glad you’re here! This is our fourth season of the podcast, but you can catch up on all the episodes you’ve missed through our episode guide.

This week we decided to get into the nitty gritty and share some tangible tips for decluttering your life and your finances. Similar to minimalism, decluttering is a hot topic online these days. We start by defining what decluttering means to us: essentially, it’s clearing out anything that takes up negative space. This could mean decluttering physical items from your home, but it could also mean decluttering your budget, your social calendar and your life.

As usual, we share tips based on our own experiences. We also share some of our favorite apps, books and podcasts that can help you declutter your own life. (Note: The best apps are usually only available in the US! Boo!) If you could only take one thing away from this episode, we would want it to be this: Sometimes, the healthiest thing to “declutter” is the unnecessary expectations and pressures you put on yourself.
