Welcome back to another season of Budgets and Cents, a podcast co-hosted by Cait Flanders (formerly Blonde on a Budget) and Carrie Smith (Careful Cents). If this is your first time listening, welcome to the show! You can visit our episode guide to catch up on all the episodes you’ve missed.

Back in season one, we talked about our personal budgeting strategies – how we got started with budgeting and what our habits were then. In today’s episode, we’re diving into (ha!) the topic of how our strategies have continued to evolve and change over time. And we’re specifically looking at how and why we’re both doing things differently this year.

Cait is focusing more on changing her business budget, which she hasn’t always done in the past. Carrie, on the other hand, is analyzing her personal budget. She also explains how she uses audits to reign in her spending, and how this helped her cut her business expenses in half (something Cait needs help with). Finally, we get into the nitty gritty of it and talk about how our bank accounts and credit cards help us with our strategies.
