Hello, friends! Welcome to another season of Budgets and Cents, a podcast co-hosted by Cait Flanders (formerly Blonde on a Budget) and Carrie Smith Nicholson (Careful Cents). If this is your first time listening, we’re glad you’re here! This is our fourth season of the podcast, but you can catch up on all the episodes you’ve missed through our episode guide.

Minimalism is a hot topic on the internet, these days. And because it’s so popular, it’s easy to come across the same definition over and over again. White walls, white furniture, no color and not a lot of stuff. It sounds a little sterile, doesn’t it? We think so, too.

In this week’s episode, we are attempting to redefine what minimalism means – at least to us! We talk about how we defined minimalism a few years ago, and what it means to us today. And after receiving a number of requests, we share how we’re embracing minimalism NOW – in our lives and in our businesses.

Partway through, Cait goes on a bit of a rant but with a good message: It’s important to realize that minimalist design is different from a minimalist mindset, and you shouldn’t have to buy minimalist things to be a minimalist.
